NLS3: Another Fourth Place in CUP3
The third round of the NLS season once again ended with fourth place for us in the CUP3 class. After the result from NLS2, the main goal was to confirm that we could maintain our pace during another race weekend. I think we managed to do that, even though we realistically knew that the conditions were not ideal for fighting for higher positions this time.
Unfortunately, the start of the race did not really go our way. In the opening part, we lost time due to several Code 60 zones and double yellow flag sections, while the leading group had a slightly better run and managed to pull away. On the Nordschleife, this kind of gap is very difficult to recover, especially in a strong class like CUP3, where the competition is very close.
Even so, it was another solid weekend. This time, 22 cars started in our class, so finishing fourth was definitely not easy. In a field like that, you need to drive a clean race, maintain consistent pace, and manage the traffic, which is always one of the key factors on the Nordschleife.
My stint was also very eventful. I had a lot of battles, overtakes, and situations in traffic, which made it extremely enjoyable. During my stint, I managed to move from P7 up to P5, and before the pit stop I was right behind the car running in fourth place.
In the end, we finished P4 in CUP3 once again. Of course, we would like to move even higher, but considering the course of the race and the strength of the starting field, I see this result in a positive way. We confirmed our competitiveness, gained more important kilometres, and once again showed that we are running at the front of a very strong class.
