About me

My name is Michal Makeš, I was born on February 3, 2000, and I've been involved in motorsport since 2016. I started in karting but moved to touring car racing in 2018.

That year, I made my debut with a Renault Clio in the ESET Cup and immediately had a strong season, scoring six wins, four more podiums, and multiple national and international titles. Thanks to a strong start, I quickly went from a newcomer to one of the front-runners.

The 2019 season built on that success. I dominated the Clio Cup once again and added nine more victories.

In 2020, I stepped up to TCR Eastern Europe with a Cupra TCR. It was a big leap in terms of competition and technical demands, but I gradually adapted and finished 4th overall and 2nd in the junior championship, scoring my first TCR podium at the Hungaroring.

2021 was a breakthrough year. With more experience and a solid team behind me, I led the season and became TCR Eastern Europe champion, including wins at Slovakia Ring and Poznań. I took two victories and five more podiums, and proudly represented the Czech Republic as one of the fastest drivers in the region.

In 2022, I switched to rear-wheel drive and entered the BMW M2 Cup, competing in a strong international field. Despite no prior experience with this type of car, I scored two podiums, consistently ran in the top 10, and finished the season 6th overall and 3rd among juniors.

In 2023, I moved to the more powerful GT4 category, racing in the ADAC GT4 Germany championship. It was a challenging but enjoyable season, with two 2nd place finishes at Oschersleben and Lausitzring. I also made my Nordschleife debut in NLS9 (VT2-RWD class), finishing 3rd and earning my DMSB B license.

In 2024, I originally planned to continue in ADAC GT4 Germany, but after a difficult opening weekend at Oschersleben, I decided to end the cooperation with the team — which proved to be the right decision, as the team struggled throughout the year and eventually folded. A shorter season allowed me to fully focus on work and university, completing my engineering degree.
I also used the open schedule to test LMP3 and Porsche Cup cars, gaining valuable experience and ticking off another personal goal.

In 2025, I returned to the Nordschleife to race in the NLS series, completed my DMSB A license, and continue to take part in selected rounds, sprint races, and tests with different cars.

My goals remain clear — to compete at the highest level, learn with every lap, and keep pushing forward through new challenges.
