Race weekend at spa Francorchamps

Race weekend at spa Francorchamps

I was most looking forward to the weekend in Spa-Francorchamps from the whole season and I'm glad that I took only positive experiences and great memories from it. In training, I got to know the track and gradually found the limits. In qualifying it started to rain and with a lot of water and it was the most fun qualifying of the season where I got P3 in the first race and P6 in the second. It's a shame about the mistake in the second lap, where I had a slightly better split time than in the first lap.

The first race was on a half dry and half wet track. At the beginning, I didn't trust the wet curbs at all and I lost a lot from that at the beginning, and I also lost a lot of speed on the straight, so even though I had a good starting position, I ended up in P7.
I went into the second race thinking that I had to go over the limit so as not to leave the beautiful Spa with empty hands. This strategy worked great for me for the first 20 minutes of the race and I was just behind second place, but then the tire wear came and with each turn it became more difficult to keep the car out of oversteer and understeer. My rival in P4 started to catch up to me and the rest of the race was a battle for P3. In the end, I managed to defend P3 and get my first podium in the BMW M2 CUP after an amazing battle which makes the podium so much more valueable.
